Greene County district court, week ending May 19

In Greene County district court Bruce William King, 61, of Dayton was sentenced May 16 to two days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. King was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. Court costs were $100. A charge against him in magistrate court of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Court costs were $60 in that case. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Charles Edward Henderson, 31, of Jefferson was sentenced to 180 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Greene County sheriff for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Henderson was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. He must pay restitution not to exceed $700 for his court appointed attorney’s fee and $100 court costs. A charge of possession of methamphetamine was dismissed. In a companion case in magistrate court, Henderson was sentenced to 30 days in jail on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. The sentence was suspended. If the sentences are at some time served, they are consecutive. Henderson was fined $105 with a $15.75 surcharge. Court costs were $60 in that case. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Persons pleaded not guilty to charges in district court as follows: Audrie Leiann Lawrence, 22, of Jefferson, theft- fourth degree against older individual, identity theft less than $1,500, and unauthorized use of credit card less than $1,500, and in a separate case, possession of marijuana- second offense; Michael Craig Glynn, 45, of Boone, lottery forgery or theft of tickets (two counts), and theft- third degree; Paul Ryan Purviance, 65, of Perry, gambling- avoid setoff; Marley Chantel Chambers, 27, of Granger, perjury; Michael Thomas Kennedy, 66, of Jefferson, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness; and Eric Anthony Grevson, 40, of Jefferson, driving while license barred. Trial dates were set for July 18 in every case.

Information is available since the return of arrest warrants that Dominic Darnell Diekman, 39, of Ford Dodge, and Morquett Borlin Jackson, 38, of Ford Dodge have been charged with fraudulent practice- second degree and gambling- avoid setoff.

Cases were initiated in district court during the week ending May 19 as follows: Bradlee Gene Beadle, 52, of Jefferson, theft- fourth degree; Larry Allen Simms, 61, of Carroll, theft- second degree and theft- third degree; Julie Anne Wells, 56, of Carroll, theft- second degree and burglary- third degree; Jonathan David Law, 39, of Churdan, operating while intoxicated- second offense; and Noah M. Winkelman, 34, of Jefferson, OWI- first offense.
